At least three people were killed and 50 others missing after a boat capsized in a river in northern Pakistan on Wednesday.
The vessel was heading for the city of Haripur when it capsized at around midday in a reservoir along the Indo River. Seven people were rescued and three bodies were recovered by emergency teams.
"Around 50 to 60 people were on board the boat when it capsized," Mujtaba Arfat, Assistant Commissioner of the city, told Efe news.
"Apparently (the boat) capsized because of overloading," he added.
He said that the accident site is not accessible by road, meaning that rescue teams could only reach the scene by boat.
The Army also sent a helicopter to participate in the rescue operation. IANS
