DJB suspends 4 officials for consuming alcohol in office

The Delhi Jal Board (DJB) on Thursday suspended four of its officials after a video showing them consuming alcohol and playing cards inside a DJB office here went viral on social media.

The video showed DJB officials along with some outsiders playing cards and consuming alcohol inside the DJB office in Punjabi Bagh.

In a statement, DJB Vice Chairman Dinesh Mohaniya said that Delhi Jal Board had zero tolerance for unprofessional and undesirable activities in its premises.

"The Delhi Jal Board obtained the video from the public domain. There was no formal complaint against anyone. Looking at nature of the video, strict action was taken and four employees were placed under suspension by the DJB," he said. IANS
