Indian, Chinese army soldiers perform Yoga on LAC in eastern Ladakh

Indian and Chinese army personnel on Friday observed the International Day of Yoga, performing Yoga 'asanas' on the Line of Actual Control (LAC) in eastern Ladakh in Jammu and Kashmir.
A ceremonial Border Personnel Meeting (BPM) on the occasion of Yoga Day was conducted in Chushul and DBO sectors of eastern Ladakh, a defence ministry statement said.
The two delegations were lead by Brigadier V.K. Purohit on the Indian side and Senior Colonel Ying Hong Chen on the Chinese side.
"The ceremonial Border Personnel Meeting saw the conduct of Yoga by both delegations and thereafter reading of a ceremonial address which composed of exchange of greetings, wishes and a vote of thanks," the statement said.
It said both delegations interacted in a free, congenial and cordial environment and parted amid a feeling of friendship and commitment towards enhancing cordial relations and maintaining peace along the LAC.
Both sides also sought to uphold the treaties and agreements signed between the governments of the two nations to maintain peace and tranquillity along the LAC, it said. IANS
