05-September-2014
A 20-year-old woman was stabbed to death while her mother was injured by a stalker in Delhi, police said Friday.
Farha, 20, was stabbed by 21-year-old Ayub at 6.30 a.m. Friday when she was sleeping in her house in east Delhi's Welcome area, police said.
The accused entered the woman's house and stabbed her in front of her mother Suhana, 40, who was also attacked when she tried to intervene.
Both were sleeping at the time of the attack.
The accused, who fled from the scene after the attack, is currently out on bail in a molestation case registered against him in July by Farha.
The man had been stalking Farha for the past few months but she refused to befriend him and lodged another complaint Thursday against him after he molested her near her home, police said.
The woman died of her injuries. Her mother was admitted to a nearby hospital.
Police have launched a manhunt to nab the accused. - IANS
