EC awaits completion of College Street violence investigation

Central Police Observer Vivek Dubey on Wednesday said that three FIRs have been lodged after disturbance following BJP President Amit Shah's roadshow here.
Stone pelting, vandalism, destruction of Bengali polymath Vidyasagar's bust and setting vehicles on fire were reported on Tuesday.
"Three cases have been lodged. Let the investigation be done first," Dubey told reporters regarding the steps the Election Commission will take in relation to the violence on College Street.
A clash broke out between the members of Trinamool Congress students wing and the saffron party activists on Tuesday outside the Calcutta University campus and the Vidyasagar College. Three bikes were set ablaze and a few people from both sides sustained injuries. IANS
