Stabbing case: AAP demand strong action against accused
14-May-2019
The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) on Tuesday demanded strong action against those accused of stabbing to death a man who tried to resist harassment to his daughter in West Delhi last week.
Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal tweeted: "Delhi Police must take strongest action against the guilty."
According to the police, the victim was returning from a hospital with his son and daughter on Saturday night when a group of men from his neighbourhood started making lewd comments at the girl.
When the father-son objected to the comments, the group surrounded the duo and thrashed them before stabbing them with a knife multiple times.
The father died in a hospital, while his son is battling critical injuries. The police on Monday arrested four youths in connection with the case.
Asking for the case to be heard in a fast-track court, AAP leader Sanjay Singh said the culprits were criminals and were moving around freely. "This would have not happened, had they been in jail. This shows how bad the law and order situation is in Delhi."
The Rajya Sabha MP also said if the police did not act against those involved in the killing immediately, then Kejriwal and the AAP would be forced to take action against them. IANS
