Vehicle hits car in RSS chief's convoy, driver arrested

A car in the convoy of RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat was hit by another vehicle here Wednesday, police said, adding that Bhagwat is safe. The vehicle driver has been arrested.
The incident happened around noon at Parade Road in Delhi Cantonment area in west Delhi when the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) chief was going to south Delhi to attend a meeting.
"A Tata Sumo bearing a Haryana number came and hit a car in Bhagwat's convoy," police said.
Sohanlal, 40, who was driving the vehicle belonging to the education department of the Haryana government, has been arrested.
"Sohanlal was coming from Panchkula and heading towards Gurgaon with a Haryana government official when he hit one of the cars of Bhagwat's convoy," said Deputy Commissioner of Police Suman Goyal.
Goyal said that the accused has been booked under sections pertaining to rash and negligent driving.
"Sohanlal is being questioned at Delhi Cantonment police station. As the accident is a bailable offence, he will be released on personal and security bond after the questioning," the official said.- IANS
