75th anniversary WW II commemorated in Nagaland

The 75th anniversary of one of the fiercest and toughest battles of World War II was commemorated on Thursday at Jotsoma in Nagaland.
The anniversary brought together countries and people whose lives were forever altered by the conflict, under the theme 'Remembrance, Reconciliation, Rebirth'.
Japan's Ambassador to India Kenji Hiramatsu said the peace the world enjoys today is built over tremendous sacrifices.
British High Commissioner to India Dominic Anthony Gerard said that India, Japan and the UK stand together as three great democracies to work with each other for peace and prosperity globally.
Nagaland Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio said that after the World War, Nagas witnessed more bloodshed. However, the past two decade have been peaceful. - IANS
