BJP leader Giriraj Singh again courted controversy Wednesday by saying those arrested for terrorist activities are from a "particular community".

The ruling Janata Dal-United in Bihar and the Nationalist Congress Party criticised the remark.

"Is it not true that all those who are arrested for terror activities are from one particular community," Giriraj Singh asked while speaking to reporters here.

He, however, clarified that he did not mean everyone from a community was a terrorist.

JD-U general secretary K.C. Tyagi said Giriraj Singh's remark was an indication of the coming bad days for the Bharatiya Janata Party.

"The RSS has a fixed 'secret agenda' and the BJP is planning to implement it. On one hand, Giriraj Singh is linking terrorists with a particular community and on the other, some people are openly saying they do not accept Mahatma Gandhi as the father of the nation. For the BJP, bad days are ahead," Tyagi said.

NCP leader Tariq Anwar said terrorists neither have religion nor caste.

"There are 120 districts affected by Maoists across the country. To which religion or caste should they be linked? It is a useless and baseless thing (to say)," he said.

Giriraj Singh, the BJP candidate from Nawada Lok Sabha constituency in Bihar, had recently sparked a row by saying that those opposed to BJP's prime ministerial candidate Narendra Modi should go to Pakistan.- IANS
