Sisters in Coimbatore petition for gun licence
16-March-2019
Two young sisters on Saturday petitioned the Coimbatore District Collector for a gun licence for self-protection after the Pollachi sexual abuse-cum-blackmail incident triggered protests in parts of Tamil Nadu.
"We have asked for the gun licence as we don't know who is a good or bad person. We want to have a gun for self-defence," said the elder sister, a final year college student.
Her sister is a school student.
Four Pollachi youths -- Thirunavukkarasu, Sathish, Sabarirajan, Vasanthakumar -- have been accused of assaulting women and filming their act to blackmail them for money or for physical submission for over seven years. The accused are in their 20s, sources said.
