Cultural festival to celebrate Indo-Thai relations
13-March-2019
The Royal Thai Embassy is organising a cultural fest - 'Namaste Thailand Festival' - from Friday to Sunday here, to commemorate 72 years of Indo-Thai diplomatic relations.
The festival of Thai food, products, music, performances and culture is all set to offer a unique Thai experience, the organisers of the festival said.
"India and Thailand have a history of good and cooperative relations. To strengthen these relations we need to co-opt culturally and understand each other. The festival is a move in this direction.
"Such festivals need to be held on a regular basis as they help the people of two great nations understand each other," Ambassador of Thailand Chutintorn Gongsakdi said in a statement.
An interactive session with the Ambassador is also slated during the opening on Friday.
Apart from activities and products on art, fashion and lifestyle, visitors can also experience Thai cuisine from Radisson Blu's restaurant Nueng Roi. There will also be three quiz competitions about Thailand, the organisers said.
Cultural performances from renowned Thai artists like Asia-7, a Thai jazz-fusion band which has played in many Indian music festivals including the Delhi International Jazz Festival this year, will culminate the festival.
It will take place at the Select City Walk here and is free for all.
