NDA in Bihar to soon announce LS election candidates
05-March-2019
The Nitish Kumar-led ruling National Democratic Alliance (NDA) in Bihar is set to announce names of candidates for all 40 Lok Sabha seats by next week.
"We have finalised everything, there is no hindrance. The NDA will announce the names of its candidates soon after the Election Commission's announcement of poll dates," Janata Dal-United (JD-U) spokesperson Neeraj Kumar said here on Tuesday.
Senior Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader Sanjay Singh (Tiger) said unlike the opposition Grand Alliance, the NDA has finalised seat-sharing and is working on seat allocation. "The names of candidates will be made public within a few days," he said.
JD-U leader Sanjay Singh said "the party will not field any candidate with tainted image".
According to the seat-sharing formula, the BJP and the JD-U will contest 17 seats each, while the remaining six seats will go to Ram Vilas Paswan-led LJP. - IANS
