23-February-2019
Former Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah thanked Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Saturday for speaking in favour of Kashmiris.
"Thank you @narendramodi Sahib. Aaj aap ne hamaray dil ki baat keh di," tweeted Abdullah.
Addressing a rally in Rajasthan, Modi said "India's fight is not against Kashmir or Kashmiris".
In another comment, Omar said, "It's been a more than a week since the terrible attack in Pulwama and more than a week that Kashmiris have been bearing the brunt of public anger. Perhaps finally after PM @narendramodi has spoken these forces targeting Kashmiris will stop in their tracks".
Both Omar and another former chief minister, Mehbooba Mufti had criticised the Prime Minister for his silence over attacks on Kashmiri students and businessmen in some states in the aftermath of February 14 Pulwama terror attack. - IANS
