A court in Andhra Pradesh's Telangana Monday directed police to book Telugu film actor Pawan Kalyan for making some offensive remarks against Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) chief K. Chandrasekhara Rao.
The court in Nizamabad asked police to register a case and submit a report to it by June 11. The court issued the direction while hearing a petition filed by a lawyer.
Pawan Kalyan, who recently floated Jana Sena and is backing the Bharatiya Janata Party-Telugu Desam Party alliance, had made the remarks while addressing an election rally in Nizamabad last week.
The actor and the TRS chief have been attacking each other during the campaigning in Telangana. The war of words hot up Saturday when the actor, who hails from Seemandhra, threatened to skin the TRS leader alive if he continues to criticize BJP 's prime ministerial candidate Narendra Modi.
Reacting to Pawan's utterances, Chandrasekhara Rao Sunday said if he snaps his finger, the actor would end up in thousand pieces.
Addressing an election rally at Kamareddy in Nizamabad district Monday, Pawan said he was not bothered about the TRS chief's threats.- IANS
