Haryana JD-U leader joins Congress

Janata Dal-United's (JD-U) Haryana unit chief Rao Kamalbir Singh on Thursday quit his party to join the Congress in the presence of senior Congress leaders here.
A number of other JD-U members also joined Congress along with Kamalbir Singh, the brother of Haryana Minister Rao Narbir Singh.
Kamalbir Singh said he decided to quit JD-U as its President and Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar disrespected the public mandate by snapping ties with the Mahagathbandhan and going with the Bharatiya Janata Party-led National Democratic Alliance (NDA).
He said the BJP has not fulfilled its promises made to the people ahead of the 2014 Lok Sabha polls.-IANS
