Sensex up 100 points, financials in green

Sensex gained over 100 point during the afternoon trade session on Wednesday while the Nifty was marginally above the 10,650 mark over gains made by the financial stocks.
FMCG, oil and gas and realty stocks slipped in the red but the key finance and banking stocks gained.
At 2.06 p.m., the Sensex traded 107.77 points or 0.30 per cent up at 35,700.27 after opening over 200 points higher at 35,819.67.
It touched an intra-day high of 35,850.41 and a low of 35,526.79.
The broader Nifty traded up by 18.65 points or 0.18 per cent at 10,651.20.
Stock-wise, Axis Bank rose over 5 per cent followed by ICICI Bank, Tata Steel, Bajaj Finance and HCL Tech which rose in the range of 2 to 4.5 per cent.
Kotak Mahindra Bank, HDFC, ITC, HDFC Bank and Yes Bank lost up to 2 per cent.
