Board with Rajiv Gandhi's name vandalized in Panjab University
27-December-2018
Unidentified miscreants put black paint on a direction board carrying the name of former Prime Minister Rajiv Gandhi on Panjab University campus here.
The direction board of the Rajiv Gandhi College Bhawan was vandalized. Officials said that the paint was applied on the name of 'Rajiv Gandhi' late on Wednesday.
National Students Union of India (NSUI) activists later removed the black paint from the board.
This follows Tuesday's incident of vandalizing Rajiv Gandhi's statute by two activists of the youth wing of the opposition Shiromani Akali Dal in Ludhiana. Both activists were later arrested by Punjab Police.
The state's ruling Congress and opposition Shiromani Akali Dal were on Tuesday involved in a bitter war of words after the statute was vandalized.
