The Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) on Wednesday sought to make light of reports that the party was keen on keeping Congress out of a proposed alliance it will tie up with the Samajwadi Party in Uttar Pradesh for the Lok Sabha polls.
"This is not true. This can never be true. Birthdays are never celebrated like this," BSP leader Satish Mishra said in the Parliament complex.
He was asked about news reports that the BSP was planning to invite leaders from various parties including longstanding rival Samajwadi Party for party supremo Mayawati's birthday celebrations in the middle of January in Lucknow to which the Congress and the BJP will not be invited. - IANS
