Northern army commander visits Karakoram Pass

Lieutenant General Ranbir Singh, the Northern Commander of the Indian Army, visited the historic and strategic Karakoram Pass along the Indo-China border in Daulat Beg Oldie (DBO) sector of Ladakh on Saturday.
Defence Ministry spokesman, Lieutenant Colonel, Devender Anand said in Jammu: "The army commander was accompanied by the General Officer commanding (GOC) of Fire and Fury Corps and GOC, Trishul Division.
"He was briefed on the operational situation in the sector," he said.
"At Karakoram Pass, Lieutenant General Ranbir Singh also met and interacted with an Indian Army Patrol.
He complimented the troopers for undertaking such an arduous task in extreme terrain and weather conditions in the interest of national security.
"He urged them to continue to uphold the highest standards of commitment and dedication to duty which Indian Army symbolises," Anand added. -IANS
