India on Thursday strongly condemned a terrorist attack in the Iranian port city of Chabahar that killed at least two people.
"India strongly condemns today's despicable terrorist attack in Chabahar," External Affairs Ministry spokesperson Raveesh Kumar said.
"We express our condolences to the government and the people of Iran and the families of the victims of this attack," he said.
He said the perpetrators behind the attack should be brought to justice expeditiously. "There can be no justification for any act of terror."
At least two people were killed and 28 injured in a suicide bombing at a police headquarters in Iran's southeastern port city of Chabahar.
Chabahar is located in the province of Sistan and Baluchestan, near the border with Pakistan. The crucial Chabahar port in Iran is being jointly developed by India, Iran and Afghanistan.
The port is a key link in the International North South Transport Corridor (INSTC), a 7,200-km-long multi-modal network of ship, rail and road routes to move freight between India, Iran, Afghanistan, Armenia, Azerbaijan, Russia, Central Asia and Europe. - IANS
