Jilted lover allegedly kills Bengal girl

 A 17-year-old girl in West Bengal's Purba Medinipur district was allegedly killed by her lover after being attacked from behind on Wednesday, police said.

"Prerna Maiti, who stays near Panskura station, was cycling when she was attacked by a third-year college boy today (Wednesday) morning. She fell from the cycle, was injured and died after being taken to the hospital," an official of Panskura Police Station said.

However, the police haven't got a formal complaint but the family members alleged that their daughter's death is related to a 'matter of love'.

"The exact reason will be investigated thoroughly once a complaint is filed," the official said.-IANS
