65-year-old woman jumps off multi-storey building in Kolkata, dies

A 65-year-old woman died here after jumping off a multi-storey building with her daughter and granddaughter, police said on Wednesday.
While the deceased's daughter was critically injured in the incident, the two-and-a- half-year-old granddaughter was safe, they said.
"Suhani Taparia (65) died after falling from the fourth floor of a building at 14 Burtolla Street in Posta area today (Wednesday) evening. She was declared brought dead in the hospital. We are investigating whether it was an accident or an attempt to suicide," Joint Commissioner of Kolkata Police Praveen Tripathi said.
"The deceased's daughter Indrani Mohta has been critically injured and admitted to Kolkata Medical College. However, the kid is safe," he said.
Police said they are interrogating the rest of the family members about the incident.
"We are interrogating the family members. Our personnel are also searching the house to see if there is any suicide note," the officer added.-IANS
