12-year-old to appear for Class 10 exam

A 12-year-old girl from Howrah district, who has never been to school, has been found eligible to sit for the West Bengal Board of Secondary Education (WBBSE) examination in 2019, an official said on Thursday.
"Saifa Khatun, 12, has never been to school. The girl did quite well in the test given to her. So we have allowed her to sit for the WBBSE examination in 2019," said Kalyanmoy Ganguly, President of the administrative body of WBBSE.
According to Ganguly, the last time an under age candidate appeared for the Board examination was in 1991.
