Canadian Leader of Opposition meets Modi

Leader of the Conservative Party of Canada Andrew Scheer, who is on a visit to India, on Tuesday held talks with Prime Minister Narendra Modi. The two leaders stressed on further developing bilateral ties.
Noting that the relationship between the two countries was elevated to strategic partnership during his visit to Canada in 2015, Modi underlined the importance of strengthening bilateral cooperation in diverse spheres.
Sharing his perspective on further developing friendly relations between the two countries, Scheer said he discussed a range of serious issues including opportunities for greater economic partnerships, improving trade between our two countries, and regional security.
On a week long visit, Scheer arrived in India on Sunday. - IANS
