Indian and Pakistani armies on Thursday evening clashed after the Pakistanis resorted to "unprovoked, indiscriminate firing" on Indian positions on the Line of Control (LoC) in Jammu and Kashmir.
Police sources said the fighting took place in Nowshera sector of Rajouri district.
"The Pakistan Army targeted military and civilian positions by using automatics, small arms and mortars. Indian positions retaliated strongly and effectively. Heavy firing exchanges are still going on," a police officer said. - IANS
