A court in Tamil Nadu's Tirupur district on Tuesday sentenced six people to death in an honour killing.
Of the six, one is the father of the girl, S. Kausalya, whose husband Shankar was murdered in 2016.
The court acquitted Kausalya's mother S. Annalakshmi and two others. The court also sentenced five people to life imprisonment.
Shankar and Kausalya were attacked in March 2016 in Udumalpet, around 540 km from here, after their inter-caste marriage.
The attack was at the behest of Kausalya's father.
