02-December-2017
A 32-year-old woman was groped and molested by an unidentified man in his 20s on the terrace of her office in the capital's busy Connaught Place, police said on Saturday.
"The incident took place on Thursday at 10 a.m. when the woman had gone to the terrace of the building (where she works)... The accused groped her, unzipped his pants and masturbated in front of her," police said.
According to an FIR, the victim, who works at Inligua language school, was sitting on the terrace when "the man, somewhere in his early to mid 20s also came up and pretended to be on the phone".
The victim told the police that he kept staring at her and pointed at "her breasts, making her uncomfortable and angry". As she tried to walk away, he groped her.
Even after the victim threatened to call the police, he didn't let go of her, and was masturbating, she said in her complaint.
He also snatched her mobile phone before fleeing.
The people in the building who heard her screams had come out of their offices by then.
The woman has not been able to identify the alleged molester from the footage of the CCTV cameras installed on the stairs that showed the man following her but the face, she said, was not clearly visible in the clip.
While a case has been registered at the Connaught Place police station, nobody has been arrested. - IANS
