EC concludes hearings in AIADMK symbol case
New Delhi
08-November-2017
The Election Commission on Wednesday concluded hearings in the AIADMK symbol case and reserved its verdict without fixing any date.
The Commission has asked the ruling faction of AIADMK comprising Chief Minister E. Palaniswamy and Deputy Chief Minister O. Panneerselvam to submit their comments, if any, by November 13, effectively ruling out the chances of giving a final order before November 10 as was suggested by the Supreme Court.
The dispute over the "Two Leaves" symbol between the ruling faction and the other group headed by T.T.V. Dinakaran arose following the death of party supremo J. Jayalalithaa.
The Commission has so far held seven sittings in the case. - IANS
