21-October-2017
Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) chief Lalu Prasad on Saturday said he is ready to fight and defeat the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) in the next Lok Sabha polls.
"I am not afraid of any one, I will directly fight against the BJP," Lalu Prasad said in his address at 130th birth anniversary of veteran Congress leader and Bihar's first Chief Minister Shri Krishna Singh here, organised here by the Bihar unit of Congress party.
Lalu Prasad, who was invited to the function as chief guest by the Congress, said he would never bow before any pressure used by the BJP government led by Narender Modi.
"I have heard that next Lok sabha polls may be held in 2018 in place of its scheduled date in 2019. I will fight against the BJP," he said.
Lalu Prasad, whose RJD is a national ally of the Congress-led opposition, advised the state Congress leaders to end internal fight in the party to rise against the BJP.
He further taunted Modi and mimicked Modi's famous opening line "Pyare bhaiyo aur behno" and attacked him for his failure on both economic as well as development fronts in the last three years.
"In last three years, country's economy has been spoiled. Demonetisation followed by GST have created problems for common people to small traders and big business men," he added. - IANS
