TDP MP decides to resign

In a surprise move, TDP MP J. C. Diwakar Reddy on Thursday announced his decision to resign from parliament.
The Lok Sabha member from Anantapur said he took the decision as he failed to serve the people who voted for him.
Reddy, who had been banned by several airlines in July after he created a ruckus at the airport, said he would meet Lok Sabha Speaker Sumitra Mahajan next Wednesday in Delhi to submit his resignation.
He, however, made it clear that he will continue in Telugu Desam Party (TDP), which he joined after resigning from Congress before 2014 elections.
He blamed a section of TDP leaders for his failure to serve the people. He said some evil forces within the party created hurdles.
Reddy said he failed to lay roads, take up sanitation works, ensure supply of drinking water or irrigate lands.
Stating that he never lived at the mercy of others in his 40-year-long political career, he said his conscience was not allowing him to continue as the MP. - IANS
