04-September-2017
A 54-year-old British national was arrested on charge of sodomising three blind children in south Delhi, police said on Monday.
Police said Murray Denis Ward was a frequent visitor to the National Association for Blind (NAB) office in the R.K Puram area and was a regular donor to it for 8-9 years. He has been booked under the Protection of Children Against Sexual Offences Act.
"We received a complaint from the NAB management on Sunday regarding sexual harassment of minor children at NAB premises in Sector 5 of R.K. Puram. Investigation revealed that he had sodomised three minor blind inmates," Deputy Commissioner of Police Ishwar Singh said.
Ward, a resident of Henely Cottage at Ampney Crusis in the United Kingdom, had worked with a Gurgugram-based MNC till April 2017.
His mobile phone contains objectionable video clippings featuring minors which were under investigation, the officer added.
"Ward will be presented in a local court for obtaining his police custody to ascertain for how long he had been committing sodomy on blind minors."
Ward had suffered a paralytic attack in February 2017 and was under treatment since then, he added. - IANS
