Man fights with bears to save sister's life in Jharkhand

A man fought with three bears on Tuesday and managed to save his sister's life in Gumla district of Jharkhand.
According to police, Budhuwa Binjhia, a resident of Pibo village in Gumla district, had gone to the forest to collect wood along with his sister on Tuesday morning when three bears suddenly appeared and attacked them.
Binjhia started fighting with the bears in a bid to keep them engaged so that they did not attack his sister Jitani Kumari.
He fought with them for nearly half an hour until finally the bears ran away into the jungle.
Later, Jitani somehow brought the injured Binjhia to the village. He was taken to hospital where he is said to be out of danger.
Local residents have demanded that the Forest Department capture the bears and pay adequate compensation to Binjhia. - IANS
