Three criminals who posed as Delhi Police officers to rob motorists, businessmen and jewellers at gunpoint here have been arrested, police said on Thursday.
The accused were identified as Bharat Bhushan Datta, 36, Ravi Datta, 29, and Pankaj Naresh Pandit, 27. They are residents of different areas of west Delhi.

They claimed to be officers from the Delhi Police Crime Branch, Naik told IANS. Their arrests followed a tip when they were trying to dispose off the booty.
Police recovered 12.5 kg of jewellery items from their possession, the officer said.
"The men confessed that they posed as policemen and would follow their target in two vehicles. They would stop the targeted vehicle on the pretext of checking its documents."
They would then forcibly enter the targeted vehicle and abduct its occupants at gunpoint. The victims were later pushed out at a deserted spot. - IANS
