4 Maoists arrested, arms cache recovered in Jharkhand

Four Maoist guerrillas were arrested here while an arms cache was seized in Jharkhand's Palamu district on Wednesday, the state police said.
The arrested Maoists, belonging to the People's Liberation Front of India (PLFI), were responsible for attacking a closed mine and setting three vehicles on fire under Ormanjhi police station jurisdiction here on July 11, a police officer said.
Three revolvers, a scooty, mobile phones, and other things were seized from the arrested Maoists.
In another development, a huge cache of arms and explosives has been recovered from Saliya forest area of Palamu district.
In a joint operation, the state police and the Central Reserve Police Force recovered five hand grenades, 550 cartridges of SLR, 13 cartridges of 9mm pistol, three backpacks, 187 caps used in making hand grenades, and other items of daily use.
Maoist guerrillas are active in 18 of the 24 districts of the state. - IANS
