The Delhi Police on Saturday nabbed a man accused of stabbing to death an aspiring air hostess, along with his two accomplices, including a juvenile, from Mumbai.
Prime accused Adil, 25, his associate Junaid who hails from Aligarh in Uttar Pradesh, and a juvenile, were brought to the national capital on a flight.
An analysis of CCTV cameras and other intelligence helped police trace the culprits' route.
Adil is accused of stabbing 21-year old Riya Gautam on Wednesday. She died the next day. Adil confessed to his crime, a statement from Delhi Police said.
"Adil confessed his involvement in the murder case and stated he was in friendship with deceased for the last three years. Since the last few days the woman had started avoiding him. Adil discussed this with his friends Junaid and a juvenile," read the statement.
A plan to avenge the rebuff was hatched and a knife was bought by the three from 'Chhota Bazaar', a local market.
The woman was stabbed by Adil a mere 100 meters from her house in Ramnagar area of Shahdara, after a verbal altercation.
She was stabbed six or seven times before the man fled the spot.
