Rocky ready with stunning range for India Resort Fashion Week

Fashion designer Rocky S feels resort wear has the most potential in the Indian market, and says events like the forthcoming India Resort Fashion Week (IRFW) in Goa, are a welcome change for masses.

The second edition of the fashion extravaganza, starting Nov 28, is scheduled to take place at Goa's popular Candolim beach this year.

"It is a good exposure to the masses of the city and also a great market to explore. So I am looking forward to a great show and super response towards the brand," said Rocky, who is participating in the four-day event for the first time.

The designer, who has styled Bollywood beauties including Bipasha Basu, Katrina Kaif and Shilpa Shetty, also designed a desi choli for international socialite Paris Hilton during her last visit to India. Hilton is coming down to Goa for the event too.

For IRFW, Rocky has created a line for young women "who feel young at heart and feel special and stand out in the crowd".

"It is all about being chic, sexy and glamorous with sheer elan. This season, we present an extravagant and chic collection with sex appeal. Colours like beige, old rose, ivory and pistachio have been used with a touch of black," said the designer.

He has used fabrics like crepe, taffeta, georgette, chiffon and suede trims with ornamentation of different materials like cord work, shiny and matte sequins, antique kundan stones and resham work.

The silhouette varies from short fitted dresses, full-length flowy gowns, semi-fitted mid-length dresses, hoodies, short tunics and tops. - IANS
