New Delhi
30-November-2016
Amid the continuing fluctuation in global oil prices, state-run Indian Oil Corp (IOC) again moved in contradictory ways on transport fuels, marginally hiking petrol by 13 paise a litre and cutting diesel prices by 12 paise at Delhi, with corresponding changes in other states and effective from midnight.
"The current level of international product prices of petrol and diesel and the INR-USD exchange rate warrant increase in selling price of petrol and decrease in selling prices of diesel, the impact of which is being passed on to the consumers with this price revision," IOC said in a release here.
Conesequently, from Thursday, petrol per litre will cost Rs 66.10 in Delhi, Rs 68.81 in Kolkata, Rs 72.46 in Mumbai and Rs 65.58 in Chennai.
Similarly, diesel will cost Rs 54.57 in Delhi, Rs 56.81 in Kolkata, Rs 60.17 in Mumbai and Rs 56.10 in Chennai.
At the previous revision on November 15, petrol was decreased by Rs 1.46 per litre and diesel by Rs 1.53 both at Delhi, excluding state levies.
The Indian basket of crude oils closed trade on Tuesday at $45.23 for a barrel of 159 litres. - IANS
