Europe's BSH group sells 1mn washing machines in India

European home appliances manufacturer BSH on Wednesday said that it had sold one millionth washing machine in India.
In a statement BSH India said it has sold one millionth washing machine unit in India with major demand from metro cities in South India.
BSH entered the Indian market in 2010 by importing Siemens products and later launched Bosch appliances-washing machines, refrigerators and dishwashers - targeting the mass premium market.
In 2014, BSH launched front load washing machine in the 7 kg category, manufactured from its Chennai plant.
In April 2018, the plant completed the production of five lakh washing machines and last year, Bosch launched top loaders washing machines in India as its first market, prior to its global launch.
"India is an important market for BSH globally," Neeraj Bahl, Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer, BSH India was quoted as saying in the statement.IANS
