Address public grievances first, Kejriwal tells officials

Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal on Monday directed all the Heads of Departments (HoDs) of the Delhi government to make redressal of public grievances a "top priority" and that no complaint should be left unresolved.

The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) chief's instruction came as he chaired a review meeting on the functioning of the Public Grievance Monitoring System (PGMS) with the Heads of Departments (HoDs) and officers of all the Delhi government departments.

"Since the government stands committed towards public welfare, it is important that individual grievances of residents of Delhi are duly addressed within the specified time limit given by each department," Kejriwal said.

He asserted that it has to be the topmost priority of all HoDs and secretaries to ensure that no grievance remains unattended.

Kejriwal told the officials that he will now hold meetings with the HoDs and secretaries twice a month - 15th and the last working day of the month - to personally review the PGMS functioning.

"Priority of the government and its officers has to be towards the public and their grievances cannot be left unresolved at any cost," he said adding that the next review meeting will be held on December 17. -IANS
