BSF can give befitting reply to Pakistan: Rajnath

The BSF is capable of giving a "befitting" reply to Pakistani troops which killed a boy and BSF trooper in the Jammu sector early on Monday, Home Minister Rajnath Singh said.
"Spoke to DG BSF who apprised me of the situation in border areas of Jammu region. The BSF is capable of giving befitting reply," Rajnath Singh tweeted after a telephonic chat with K.K. Sharma.
Rajnath Singh is on a three-day visit to Bahrain from Sunday.
The minister also hailed the bravery of Border Security Force Head Constable Sushil Kumar who along with the boy lost his life in the heavy shelling and automatic gunfire by Pakistan Rangers.
A resident of Kurukshetra in Haryana, Kumar, inducted in the BSF in 1992, was killed in R.S. Pura sector. The boy died in Kanachak area.
"I salute the bravery and sacrifice of Sushil Kumar," Rajnath Singh said.
Officials said the Pakistan Rangers targeted around a dozen BSF outposts on the International Border. The firing began around 2 a.m.
Police said the injured included two BSF troopers and seven civilians. At least 50 villages damaged in the fresh shelling.
Border forces of the two countries have been trading fire since the September 29 surgical strikes by the Indian Army at terror launch pads in Pakistan-administered Kashmir. - IANS
