Over 1500 students from different government schools will Thursday pay tribute to the Pakistan terror attack victims, an official said Wednesday.

The students from Delhi government and New Delhi Municipal Corporation (NDMC) schools will gather at Central Park in Connaught Place at around 2 p.m. and pray for the 148 people, including 132 children who were shot dead by Taliban terrorists in Pakistan's Peshawar city Tuesday.

According to an NDMC official, the students will light candles and lay white flowers at the base of the largest national flag in the country flown at the Central Park.

"The students expressed their desire to pay tribute to the children who died in Pakistan, with flowers and candles. So, we obliged," an NDMC official said.

Delhi Lt. Governor Najeeb Jung along with other senior officials of the Delhi government will also be present, the official added.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi along with other parliamentarians Wednesday observed a two-minute silence for the terror victims.

Schools across India too prayed for the souls of the departed by observing a two-minute silence and holding special prayers. - IANS
