The Government on Wednesday said that due to its zero tolerance policy towards terrorism and sustained action by security forces, a large number of terrorists have been killed in the Kashmir Valley.

The government also dismissed that Pulwama terror attack that claimed lives of 40 CRPF personnel on February 14 was due to intelligence failure.

"J&K was affected by terrorism sponsored and supported from across the border for the last 30 years. However, owing to the policy of zero tolerance towards terrorism and sustained action against the terrorists by security forces, a large number of terrorists have been neutralised during the past few years," Minister of State for Home Affairs G Kishan Reddy informed the Rajya Sabha.

"All agencies were working in a coordinated manner and the intelligence inputs are shared among various agencies on real-time basis," the Minister said.

Reddy said the investigation carried out by the NIA into the Pulwama attack resulted in identifying the conspirators, suicide attackers and the vehicle provider.

Reddy was replying to a question by Syed Nasir Hussain in the Rajya Sabha.IANS
