9,073 cases pending in NCLT till Jan 31

A total of 9,073 cases are under consideration in National Company Law Tribunal (NCLT) as on January 31, Parliament was told on Tuesday.
These include 1,630 cases of merger and amalgamation, 2,511 cases of insolvency and 4,932 cases under other sections of the Companies Act, Minister of State for Corporate Affairs P.P. Chaudhary told the Rajya Sabha in a written reply.
"All efforts are being taken to dispose off the cases as per the time limits laid down in the Companies Act, 2013 and the Insolvency and Bankruptcy Code, 2016," he said.
He added that electronic and information technology among other systems were being used extensively to ensure quick disposal of the cases. - IANS
