Two JeM militants killed in Kashmir
15-July-2017
Two suspected Jaish-e-Muhammad (JeM) militants were killed by security forces during an ongoing anti-terror operation in Jammu and Kashmir's Pulwama district on Saturday, while the remaining militants entered a cave in the densely forested area.
Army sources had earlier said that three militants were killed in the ongoing operation in Satoora forests of Tral area.
Director General of Police S.P. Vaid told reporters that the bodies of the slain militants were visible while the remaining militants have taken refuge in the cave.
"The dead militants look like foreigners, probably belonging to Jaish-e-Muhammad (JeM) outfit," Vaid said.
"Firing is still going on in the area. We expect to eliminate more militants," he added.
Para Commandos and helicopters were also part of the operation. Security forces, including the counter-insurgency Rashtriya Rifles (RR) and Special Operations Group (SOG), had launched the operation earlier on Saturday. - IANS
