The Weekend Leader domain name blocked on charges of spamming |
Chennai18 May 2012 |
The Weekend Leader’s domain name (www.theweekendleader.com) was blocked for over 24 hours on an alleged issue of spamming. The charge against us was that we were found to be “involved in spamming.”
Readers were unable to log on to the site since the morning of February 2, IST. A reader from Bangalore was the first to inform us that he was not able to access the site.
However, there was no problem for readers in Chennai (where our office is located) who continued to visit the site till late evening. The site went down post-midnight.
Frantic efforts to contact the US office of ‘Reseller Club’ proved futile as the support team members kept directing our technical team to the ‘Abuse Desk,’ which was said to be dealing with the issue.
Finally, it became known that the ‘Abuse Desk’ of the company (www.india.resellerclub.com) was sitting in an office in Mumbai.
The Editor of this website spoke to Payal Dharawat who took prompt action to unblock the site and promised to revert in writing the reasons for blocking the site, and the name/s of person or persons involved in taking the decision.
We will update on further developments. – TWL Bureau
